“Sails of the spirit” is a social project that has been implemented since 2011. This expedition is an inclusive project where people with and without disabilities interact in a harmonious and natural way. In the expeditions, there is a joint training of maritime affairs, preparation and conduct of Maritime expeditions, regattas and humanitarian activities.

Inclusion is the basic principle of “Sails of the spirit”. Each sailing and other activities within the project are carried out by a team consisting of people with disabilities and people without disabilities.

In 2019, the inclusive team of “Sails of the spirit” plans to organize the 16th stage of the project.

From 20 to 22 may 2019, training camp will be held in Yekaterinburg. It will include training and an inclusive sailing regatta.

From June 16 to July 6, 2019, in Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Denmark with the support of the state atomic energy Corporation “Rosatom” the Baltic stage of the expedition “Sails of the spirit”will be held. The catamaran will take the route Riga (Latvia) – Klaipeda (Lithuania). The expedition includes people with disabilities from different cities and regions of Russia and other countries.

During the Baltic expedition, the team will organize days of inclusion in European and Russian cities. Days will include various workshops, seminars,  performances, inclusive concerts, theoretical and practical classes on sailing vessel management. In addition, during the expedition, the inclusive team of “Sails of the spirit” will hold meetings with representatives of local authorities and public organizations.

From 2 to 11 September 2019, an inclusive sailing camp will be held on the lake Sevan (Armenia) on the basis of the Armenian camp. Within the framework of the camp, participants will improve and develop their skills in the management of a sailing ship and kayaks; participate and organize humanitarian activities. At the end of the camp, everyone will take part in an inclusive regatta and an inclusive kayaking competition.

From September 14 to October 3, 2019, the Mediterranean stage of the expedition “Sails of the spirit” will be held, the starting and ending point of which will be the city of Marmaris (Turkey). The expedition will hold sports and humanitarian events in the following cities: Marmaris (Turkey), Antalya (Turkey), Mersin (Turkey), Cyprus, Alexandria (Egypt).

The goal of the project” Sails of the spirit” is the development of inclusive yachting as an open model of demonstration of special talents and abilities of a person.

In 2019, we focus on creating a methodology of formation of competencies for inclusive interaction through yachting.

Tasks of the humanitarian mission “Sails of the spirit 2019”:

1. Support of the Congress of people with disabilities of the Baltic sea countries (2020).
2. Support for the First International Congress of people overcoming addiction (2019, Yekaterinburg).
3. Organization of inclusive international cooperation.
4. Development of a methodology of the formation of competencies of inclusive interaction (in yachting).
5. Development of inclusive management in an inclusive social project.
