From October 10 to 26, 2024, Turkey will host the exciting expedition "Sails of the Spirit: A Way of Life" 2024, as part of the 20th anniversary stage of the project, implemented by "White Cane" NGP with the support of the State Atomic Energy Corporation "Rosatom."
Male and female crews from Russia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Egypt, England, and Latvia, including people with disabilities and volunteers without disabilities, will participate in the events. The teams will cover 700 nautical miles along the Marmaris-Antalya-Tashudju-Marmaris route, during two offshore races led by experienced captains, and will organize festivals - "Extrability Days" in Antalya and Silifke.
Additionally, on October 11, for the first time on Turkey's Black Sea coast in the city of Sinop, a seminar introducing the "Sails of the Spirit" project to local residents will be held, marking the next step in expanding the project's geography.

The project will bring together activists and public figures in the social sphere from various countries: Dursun Arslan - President of the Platform of Public Organizations of People with Disabilities in Tarsus, member of the board of the Turkish Confederation of Disabled Persons; Fulya Aslan - Leader of the Association for Interaction with Special Children in Silifke; Ziyat Abdykaimov - expert at the Center for Working with People with Disabilities at Nazarbayev University (Astana, Kazakhstan); Gulvira Taubadinova - head of the inclusive information portal #DefactoFM (Taldykorgan, Kazakhstan); Inna Ferko - Chairwoman of the "Association of Indigenous Minorities of the North" (Zabaykalsky Krai, Russia); Tatyana Kulyaeva - Director of the private school for joint education of children with and without disabilities "First School" (Nizhny Novgorod, Russia); Mukhmin Abbas - champion in parataekwondo, activist of the organization "Village of Hope" (Alexandria, Egypt) and many others.
The co-organizers of the project in 2024 will be leading social organizations in Turkey: the Tarsus Disability Platform, the Disabled Sports Federation, societies of people with disabilities from Mersin and Marmaris, the "Kumkuyu Arsoy" home for the disabled in Silifke, and others.

Key project events:
The first sea passage will take place from October 12 to 17 along the Marmaris-Antalya-Tashudju route and will continue from October 21 to 26 along the Tashudju-Marmaris route.
October 15: Extrability Day on International White Cane Day in Antalya! This day will feature a sailing regatta with the participation of residents, a visit to a rehabilitation center, a festive concert involving people with disabilities, and an award ceremony for the winners.
October 18: All festival participants from different countries will present themselves and their activities, sharing how they joined the project, and then they will represent their country and region at the National Cultures Festival through costumes and dance elements of their nation.
October 19: Teams, on your marks! The traditional festival - Extrability Day will be held on the main stage of the city of Tashudju. The day will begin with a visit to a Russian school, followed by an inclusive regatta, an environmental action, master classes, and a concert featuring performances by creative groups and soloists from different countries.
On October 21, a meeting with students from the Mersin University branch in Silifke will be held, where project participants will introduce their activities, the philosophy of Extrability, and conduct master classes.
"By working in an inclusive team and sharing experiences, project participants learn to use physical and psychological barriers to unlock human potential," commented Dursun Arslan, President of the Platform of Public Organizations of People with Disabilities in Tarsus.

The project has existed since 2011 and has been held annually in Turkey since 2013. The events include sea expeditions, sailing camps, and regattas with the participation of people with disabilities, aimed at developing inclusion and international cooperation. Since 2016, the project has been supported by the State Atomic Energy Corporation "Rosatom" and the Federal Agency "Rossotrudnichestvo."
The goal of the project is to develop inclusive yachting as an open model for revealing special talents and human capabilities. "Sails of the Spirit" unites people from different countries and cultures, creating a space for mutual understanding, support, and joint growth.
